What factor probably has the most control on life span and the aging process in animals?

1) diet

2) exercise

3) envirinment

4) genetic makeupWhat factor probably has the most control on life span and the aging process in animals?
Quite simply, your question is a little too vauge. Talking about every single member in the Kingdom Animalia is a bit difficult for anyone. In this case its genetic makeup entirely. House flys can survive at maximum for 72 hours, while certain species of clam regularily live over a century.

Within a single species, it is often a combination of enviroment and the availibility of food. An enviroment with a minimum of predators and abundant food will dramatically increase the life span of a species as opposed to areas with abundant predators or a food shortage.

Well, using neural networks, the program can be trained to predict certain outcomes.

Say you have a bunch of random data (the more random the better) that you think could build a connection to a specified outcome. You can feed this data through neural network where it'll learn the data and any trends throughout. Then you can program it to give certain results.

Another example:

Your an ad agency and you want to target only four types of people. Well obviously there are more than four categories of people to target, but with neural networks you can come up with four pretty good ads that'll cover all the people. So you take data of people at Central Park. You notice that people who wear white shirts usually eat hot dogs on friday, but only if the temperature is above 70 F. So now you have for data points: color of shirt, what the eat, when they eat it, and on what kind of day. Now do this same thing for 100's or 1000's of people and feed that data into the neural network you program. The program if trained enough can come up with some conclusions about what those people would like for our advertisement.

This is a very simplified analysis but you can kind of get the point:

Look at someones heredity, sertain genomes, and train the neural network with that data and then possibly figure out some pretty neat conclusions from that.

What is IN PROCESS CONTROL?

A control that is monitoring part of an overall process. An example might be a PH probe located in the VAT to monitor the contents of a mixing vat. As water and chemicals are added the PH is monitored and specific amounts of chemicals may be added to adjust to a target PH as part of the recipe for what ever is being made.

The location of the control is within the process (inside the tank / VAT). Compare this to a worker periodically taking a sample of the contents and measuring PH with a bench top tester. This would be an Out of process control as the worker would be using a PH meter that is not physically in the process and could be used for several different processes. Usually this would be done as a QC check of the In Process Controls. What is IN PROCESS CONTROL?
A process can be ';in control'; or ';out of control';.

This is determined by plotting the results of a process on a ';Process Control Chart'; and looking for specific characteristics of the data. Control limits (upper and lower) are set by statistical process controls. When these limits are crossed, the process is considered to be ';out of control.';

For example, a piece part might have a dimension of 1.000 +/- .005. The pieces that come off this operation would be measured and plotted on a graph. The variability of the measurement would be analyzed. If the measurements started trends toward an out of tolerance condition, the process could be deemed out of control and changes to the process would be required.

What? Could you be a bit more clear?

    What is process control?

Process control is a statistics and engineering discipline that deals with architectures, mechanisms, and algorithms for controlling the output of a specific process.

For example, heating up the temperature in a room is a process that has the specific, desired outcome to reach and maintain a defined temperature (e.g. 20掳C), kept constant over time. Here, the temperature is the controlled variable. At the same time, it is the input variable since it is measured by a thermometer and used to decide whether to heat or not to heat. The desired temperature (20掳C) is the setpoint. The state of the heater (e.g. the setting of the valve allowing hot water to flow through it) is called the manipulated variable since it is subject to control actions.

A commonly used control device called a 鈥樷€欌€檖rogrammable logic controller鈥欌€? or a PLC, is used to read a set of digital and analog inputs, apply a set of logic statements, and generate a set of analog and digital outputs. Using the example in the previous paragraph, the room temperature would be an input to the PLC. The logical statements would compare the setpoint to the input temperature and determine whether more or less heating was necessary to keep the temperature constant. A PLC output would then either open or close the hot water valve, an incremental amount, depending on whether more or less hot water was needed. Larger more complex systems can be controlled by a Distributed Control System (DCS) or SCADA system.

In practice, process control systems can be characterized as one or more of the following forms:

Discrete 鈥?Found in many manufacturing, motion and packaging applications. Robotic assembly, such as that found in automotive production, can be characterized as discrete process control. Most discrete manufacturing involves the production of discrete pieces of product, such as metal stamping.

Batch 鈥?Some applications require that specific quantities of raw materials be combined in specific ways for particular durations to produce an intermediate or end result. One example is the production of adhesives and glues, which normally require the mixing of raw materials in a heated vessel for a period of time to form a quantity of end product. Other important examples are the production of food, beverages and medicine. Batch processes are generally used to produce a relatively low to intermediate quantity of product per year(a few pounds to millions of pounds).

Continuous 鈥?Often, a physical system is represented though variables that are smooth and uninterrupted in time. The control of the water temperature in a heating jacket, for example, is an example of continuous process control. Some important continuous processes are the production of fuels, chemicals and plastics. Continuous processes, in manufacturing, are used to produce very large quantities of product per year(millions to billions of pounds).

Applications having elements of discrete, batch and continuous process control are often called hybrid applications.

    Examples

A thermostat is a simple example for a closed control loop: It constantly measures the current temperature and controls the heater's valve setting to increase or decrease the room temperature according the user-defined setting. A simple method switches the heater either completely on, or completely off, and an overshoot and undershoot of the controlled temperature must be expected. A more expensive method varies the amount of heat provided by the heater depending on the difference between the required temperature (the ';setpoint';) and the actual temperature. This minimizes over/undershoot.

An anti-lock braking system (ABS) is a more complex example. What is process control?

no the doctors give different levels of birth control to each women dependent on her hormone levels. Is it okay to give a friend a pack of my birth control so they dont have to go through the process.?
Birth control have to be prescribed. And if a doctor doesn't know her medical history or any other condition she may have the birth control can have horrible side effects. Females have different hormone levels and it has to be specifically for her. So in short terms, if she used YOUR birth control it most likely wont be effective for her and can cause problems. Please don't give her your pills. A female who lied about her smoking status and kidney status passed away from a blood clot dur to the pill.
noooo! because she has to see a doctor to get a birth control thats right for HER. your brand might not be the right one for her.

tell her to suck it up and just see a doctor for the pill if she wants it that bad.
Just have her go to a family planning clinic. She can get it free and they won't tell her parents.
NO, HAVE YOUR FRIEND GO TO THE DOCTOR HERSELF, IT CAN BE VERY SERIOUS TO GIVE HER THE PILLS YOURSELF. SHE HAS TO GO THROUGH THE PROCESS TO KNOW HER NEEDS. ALL OF ARE BODIES ARE DIFFERENT AND SOMETIMES DOES NOT TAKE THE SAME PILLS. HAVE HER GO FOR HERSELF, IT IS NOT A PAINFUL PROCESS. IF SHE DOES NOT WANT HER PARENTS TO FIND OUT,THEN YOU CAN ALSO ASK QUESTIONS FOR HER.

Manufacturing process produces 40 computer circuit boards, including 7 that are defective. The quality control?

manufacturing process produces 40 computer circuit boards, including 7 that are defective. The quality control department selects 10 at random for testing and will shut down the plant for trouble shooting if 1 or more in the sample are found defective. What is the probability that the plant will be shut down?

Manufacturing process produces 40 computer circuit boards, including 7 that are defective. The quality control?
This is a probability-based question. Basically in order for the plant to not shut down, the quality control department must select a functional computer circuit board on each of 10 attempts. I assume the computer circuit board that is being tested is not restored back to the pool of boards for selection so that you are not retesting the same boards. Therefore, after making the first selection, the pool actually decreases by 1. After calculating this probability, you can subtract it from 1 to get the actual probability that the plant will be shut down.

    The calculation is as follows:

    (33/40) x (32/39) x (31/38) x (30/37) x (29/36) x (28/35) x (27/34) x (26/33) x (25/32) x (24/31) = 0.109

    1 - 0.109 = 0.891

So the probability that the plant will be shut down is 89%.Manufacturing process produces 40 computer circuit boards, including 7 that are defective. The quality control?

Can you name one program or process that has been improved by adding Govt. control and bureaucracy?

Hasn't it been proven that in America, the best way to improve programs and process is to add competition; not Govt. control and bureaucracy?

Google: Canada Health Care surgery waitCan you name one program or process that has been improved by adding Govt. control and bureaucracy?
The U.S. government simply cannot be trusted with tax dollars. They finance myriad dependency programs that offer no reason for people to work. It seems more like congress wanting to control peoples lives than actually offering any incentive for independence. I fear a democrat majority in both houses and the white house for this reason.

DR.JOHN: Are you of this world? Exactly what social security benefits do you see being administrated properly? Retirement monies for both of my now retired parents are not as projected years ago. Our government officials spend tax dollars like drunken sailors. As far as Canada being a model for healthcare, you are terribly mistaken. The only advantage to their system is inexpensive prescription drugs. As in most of europe, many canadians needing major surgery or other essential care come to the U.S. for it. Each of their system(s) is based on first-come, first-served as opposed to prioritazation. Can you name one program or process that has been improved by adding Govt. control and bureaucracy?
I guess that would depend on who you asked. If you asked the leeches that suck off the govt., they would say the one they benefit from. Why are people entitled to medicare just because their at a certain age? Why don't you lawmakers allow people to work for what they need. AMERICA doesn't need hand-outs. We need protection from outside entities, not hand outs. If there is an unemployment rate its because of the lazy leeches, not the presidents fault, economy or the like. If you can get up off your lazy butt then you should be able to find something to do. The nerve of some of you people to take food stamps, social security (when you didnt even put in) and the like is a disgrace to the America I know. Imagine how the world would be if everyone acted like you.

The only entity that has improved, needed, and really helps is the military.

Anyone that says anything in Canada is better than here must leave now. Your probably one of the thoughtless socialists that said they were leaving if Bush got into office, and were left with your snail-like sludge on our streets.
EBT program, the Electronic Delivery of Food (stamp) Benefits and TANF cash. It speeds delivery, reduces waste, improves accountability and creates quasi banking for the poor.
Well, lets see... there was - no. And then there was... nope. Sorry, can't come up with anything. Oh, wait! Social Security... okay, nevermind - still nothing.
Any government agency has one desire: To grow larger and increase its budget. The goal is not to improve or solve the problem, because then your job goes away.
I'm not seeing any answers yet...Hmm I wonder if people really believe the government can provide for them when they can't even provide good education to the nation with the billions spent. They can't seem to find the money to fix the infrastructure, and they spend money we don't have.
Yes. The armed forces. It is the one and only thing a government can do right. Of course if a Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter is president and they gut the military as they both did then the government cannot even do that.
Nothing is ever gained by letting the Govt. take control of it. As for as Canada Health Care, surgery wait can be months. If Canada is so great, why do many Canada residents come to the US for their surgery, no waiting line, that is why. Canada Health Care plan was strickly to sky rocket taxes, not take better care of patience, and lord help ya if your old Grandparents gets sick, especially needs surgery, think they care...no, they are too old anyway, let them die. And Hillary wants to model US healthcare after their health care, no thanks, the US is not stupid.
I don't agree. Social Security Medicare and Medicaid are relatively good programs. I prefer Canada's though

How does the ALU and the control unit work together to process data?

The ALU (arithmetic-logic unit) has direct input and output access to the processor controller, main memory (RAM), and input/output devices.

Inputs and outputs flow along an electronic path that is called a bus. The input consists of an instruction word that contains an operation code, one or more operations, and sometimes a format code.

The operation code tells the ALU what operation to perform and the operands are used in the operation.

For example, two operands might be added together or compared logically.

The format may be combined with the op code and tells, for example, whether this is a fixed-point or a floating-point instruction. The output consists of a result that is placed in a storage register and settings that indicate whether the operation was performed successfully.

If it isn't, some sort of status will be stored in a permanent place that is sometimes called the machine status word.

There is no such a thing as ';best'; response. It can be either fast and somewhat oscillatory, or slow and dampened.

If empirical tuning (i.e., increase gain until the system starts oscillating and divide by two, repeat with reset and rate) does not provide good results, you will need to build a mathematical model of the system. This is not straightforward and outside expertise will have to be brought. See the link.

Are we in control of our mind or is it an automatic process?

Can we really control what we take in and what we dont or do we only remember things that are actually needed in our lives and reject everything else.

Eg. your in a room full of people, you've come to meet your old school friend, another friend is in the corner but your not expecting to see her, would you notice her or anyone else for that matter or simply the person you where looking for.Are we in control of our mind or is it an automatic process?
    Both!

You can control attention - i.e. in searching for stimulus (which is applicable to your friend in a party scenario) which may lead to you ignoring other stimuli (it inhibits the brians response to stimuli you are not specifically looking for, and controlled by the frontal lobes)

This is similar to the ';cocktail party effect';. However, further study into this specific effect suggests that processing of some stimuli - or the process of all stimuli to a certain level perhaps - is automatic (although we can ignore background noise when talking to someone, when our name (for example) is spoken in one of the unattended conversations we a re immediately alerted).

The Modularity of Mind hypothesis suggests a lot of processes are both automatic and inpenetrable (uncontrollable) although expectation does play a large role (we have more difficulty recognising people in a situation we wouldn't expect to see them in.

In you example, whether you recognise your second friend might depend on how badly you want to find you first friend, and therefore how much attention you are giving to that search above all others. Are we in control of our mind or is it an automatic process?
    AUTOMATIC
Except the distribution of food and the eventual death, God has given immense powers to human beings. We are not robots and that's why we are not automatically doing things. All our body parts are under the dictations and coordination's of our mind, That's why due to any accident or event that cause the damage of brain would lead to the abnormal activities that you can termed automatic...because of the minds inability to perform well.
You control your mind and your thoughts, you simply choose to see or ';not'; see the other person. If you liked them you would choose to notice them or if you didn't really like or had any interest in them your brain would simply choose not to see them. You create your reality and you choose who you would like to play a part in it. This is why we do not choose to put ourselves in situations unfamiliar to us
I think that some processes are automatic and some chosen. Nature is such a complicated thing...........
To answer your last question first.

If you have tunnel vision, you would not notice your other friend who's standing in the corner. It would also suggest that you are not very observant.

What are the hormones that control and regulate the digestive process?

    are these it

    gastrin

    secretin

    cholecystokinin

if they are not what are they?

thanksWhat are the hormones that control and regulate the digestive process?
There are at least four hormones that aid and regulate the digestive system:

Gastrin - is in the stomach and stimulates the gastric glands to secrete pepsinogen(an inactive form of the enzyme pepsin) and hydrochloric acid. Secretion of gastrin is stimulated by food arriving in stomach. The secretion is inhibited by low pH .

Secretin - is in the duodenum and signals the secretion of sodium bicarbonate in the pancreas and it stimulates the bile secretion in the liver. This hormone responds to the acidity of the chyme.

Cholecystokinin (CCK) - is in the duodenum and stimulates the release of digestive enzymes in the pancreas and stimulates the emptying of bile in the gall bladder. This hormone is secreted in response to fat in chyme.

Gastric inhibitory peptide (GIP) - is in the duodenum and decreases the stomach churning in turn slowing the emptying in the stomach. Another function is to induce insulin secretion. What are the hormones that control and regulate the digestive process?
gastrin, secretin, and cholecystokinin are correct.

What is the aim of process control?

In management, what is the role of power in the control process? I do not understand the question please help?

I don't understand the question either. The control process involves planning, tracking, and evaluating. The only ';power'; involved is in giving feedback to employees and maybe having the authority to terminate based on performance.

  • Is there anything we can to do to improve the quality control process for products made In China?

Fisher Price just recalled hundreds of thousands of toys to do lead paint. This comes shortly after a Thomas the Tank recall. Is there anything we can do to improve the quality control process for all the items that are made in China? Yes, we can say we are going to purchase only Made in the USA products, but anyone who has a child knows how much they love Dora and Diego, Sesame Street and Elmo, etc. These products are all manufactured in China and imported. As a consumer and as a parent I am extremely concerned about this. I would love to hear your feedback....Is there anything we can to do to improve the quality control process for products made In China?
Yes, put an embargo on their products until they meet US safety standards. They claim that 99% of their products do meet standards, but apparently the other 1% will kill you.Is there anything we can to do to improve the quality control process for products made In China?
DON'T BUY THEM - DON'T BUY ANY PRODUCT THAT DOES NOT HAVE AN AMERICAN LABEL THIS INCLUDES ALL THOSE HONDAS, TOYOTAS AND NISSANS YOU AMERICAN TRAITORS ARE DRIVING.

NOT THAT YOU CARE BUT EVERY DOLLAR MADE ON THOSE PRODUCTS IS RETURNED TO CHINA AND JAPAN NOT ONE DIME IS SPENT OR SAVED IN THIS COUNTRY AFTER THE EMPLOYEES ARE PAID
Easy one, we need to quit buying their crap.
You point out that quality is sometimes a problem with Chinese made goods, then eliminate as a response the one effective solution to the problem which is - if it does not meet your standards, don't buy it. If enough people feel the way you do the Chinese manufacturers will get the message, and rapidly too...
Write the company and tell them you will no longer buy any of their products made in china then keep your word. The $$$ speaks louder than any government.

What is the aim of process control?

To get the asurance that you can make the desired product which meets the specifications all the time every time. To maintian the process variation minimal from the nominal values.

http://www.gmpqualityup.comWhat is the aim of process control?
This is very abstract subject. Aim of process control is to provide optimal operation of the controlled process, also to ensure that activities are conducted in a planned and systematic manner through the implementation of documented procedures, for example safe work procedures. By gathering information about the various stages of the process and performing statistical analysis on that information, an engineer is able to take necessary action (often preventive) to ensure that the overall process stays in-control and to allow the product to meet all desired specifications. Process control involves monitoring processes, identifying problem areas, recommending methods to reduce variation and verifying that they work, optimizing the process, assessing the reliability of parts, and other analytic operations.

How does insulin help control blood sugar, what's the process?

I have half a pancreas due to car accident, I been treated as a pre-diabetic, I know in the beginning I injected insulin, it's been 10 years now and I've avoided it, I have seen my doctor and due to the fact that I don't have neither type, (Type l/TYPE 2) I just monitor my sugar, it's come to the point that I can't control my bad habits, maybe I should inject insulin if my blood sugar is high, but I'm scared! How will it really help me, for me not to see it as a bad thing, but a good thing! Or are there other alternatives???How does insulin help control blood sugar, what's the process?
Cells need glucose to function. Think of your cells as being ';locked.'; Insulin is the key that ';unlocks'; the cell so glucose can enter and be used. Without insulin, your cells cannot use the glucose, and it builds up in your blood. This is hyperglycemia.

That being said, if you only have half a pancreas, your insulin-producing capabilities are compromised. The pancreatic beta cells will have to work twice as hard to keep your blood glucose levels at a normal level, and could eventually stop functioning. This would leave you essentially as a Type I patient, and you'd need insulin.

There really is no alternative at that point. The best thing you can do at this point is to avoid spikes in blood sugar...basically live as a Type 2 diabetic would and try to control it with diet and excercise. Yes, avoid those bad habits! :-)

Good luck! How does insulin help control blood sugar, what's the process?
Physiologically, insulin will hit your cells and basically tell them ';hey there's sugar in the blood, it's lunch time';. And your cells will import sugar into the blood. It's not a bad thing. Most people have insulin circulating in their body naturally. Having half a pancreas just means your body works harder to make the same amount of insulin as normal people.

Hypothetically, if you inject insulin, it may dampen the strain on your islet of langerhan cells (the cells that make insulin) and perhaps preserve them. If it comes down to you wanting to binge on sugar and avoid insulin, my diagnosis would be to take the insulin.

However! Everything in moderation. If you see insulin as a miracle drug for you to eat whatever the heck you want, you're very wrong. At some point, if you don't control your sugar intake, your body will stop responding to insulin. Then not only will you have type II, youll be unable to eat a majority of foods. so imagine no ice cream or pancakes forever.

so in ending. Control your habits. Forget about the insulin.
Yes there are alternatives. ok this may seem surprising but this can CURE it. click on the link below to read about oil pulling and if you cook using oil this should not cost a dime! also check out other things on this website because i believe that there are other things that help for example blackstrap molasses

    http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/oil_鈥?/a>

    God Bless You!
Well if your sugar gets to high you could go into a coma and DIE!

Insulin regulates your sugar. When your pancreas stops producing it. you have to replace it. w/ shots.
Your pancreas produces two hormones which act to help control your blood sugar. One is Glugacon and the other is insulin. These hormones work in opposition of each other. When your blood sugar is low (ie haven't eaten in a while) your pancreas releases glugagon. This hormone basically causes your liver (and other cells) to release sugar into the blood stream. If on the other hand your blood sugar is high (ie after eating a candy bar) your pancreas releases insulin. Insulin attaches to your cells and tells them to take in the sugar...this lowers the sugar that is in your blood. It is VERY important to maintain your blood sugar levels. There can be very serious problems with long term high blood sugar levels. I would certainly recommend keeping a very close eye on your blood sugar. Have your sugar checked by your doctor at least yearly if not more (you can buy a test kit at the store and check you levels yourself) If your levels are high it would be a very good thing for you to take insulin...it is just replacing the insulin your body would be making were it not for the injury.

Please give me a brief description about statistical process control?

its a concept related to my project in Mechanical Engg. ... (production line)Please give me a brief description about statistical process control?
Classical quality control was achieved by inspecting 100% of the finished product and accepting or rejecting each item based on how well the item met specifications. In contrast, statistical process control uses statistical tools to observe the performance of the production line to predict significant deviations that may result in rejected products.

The underlying assumption is that there is variability in any production process: The process produces products whose properties vary slightly from their designed values, even when the production line is running normally, and these variances can be analyzed statistically to control the process. For example, a breakfast cereal packaging line may be designed to fill each cereal box with 500 grams of product, but some boxes will have slightly more than 500 grams, and some will have slightly less, in accordance with a distribution of net weights. If the production process, its inputs, or its environment changes (for example, the machines doing the manufacture begin to wear) this distribution can change. For example, as its cams and pulleys wear out, the cereal filling machine may start putting more cereal into each box than specified. If this change is allowed to continue unchecked, more and more product will be produced that fall outside the tolerances of the manufacturer or consumer, resulting in waste. While in this case, the waste is in the form of ';free'; product for the consumer, typically waste consists of rework or scrap.

By using statistical tools, the quality engineer responsible for the production line can troubleshoot the root cause of the variation that has crept in to the process and correct the problem.

How is the nuclear fission process controlled and what is fissionable material?

All help much appreciated and please write an answer even if you think it has been said because i need all the help i can get...also...dont be afraid to elaborate on your answers. Thanks in advance!!!How is the nuclear fission process controlled and what is fissionable material?
I presume that by controlled you mean its for nuclear electricity generation applications. As opposed to an uncontrolled reaction found in an atomic weapon.

Usually in contemporary nuclear power plants, control rods which reflect or adsorb (in simple terms) neutrons are lowered into the reactor core.

If you read up on fission, you will know neutrons are what keep the fission reaction going assuming the fissile material is avaliable in abundance in the reaction. By limiting the supply of 'free' active neutrons, one can limit or 'throttle' the extent of the nuclear fission reaction.

Fissile material in nuclear power plants is usually moderately eniched Uranium, which can be a specific 'blend' of U-253 and U-258 (of course, with many trace elements).

EDIT: I forgot to mention that with some newer fourth-generation (experiment) nuclear power plants, the process and fuel are entirely different. Some use Thorium, and have radically different designs from 'traditional' nuclear power plant designs. How is the nuclear fission process controlled and what is fissionable material?
Nuclear fission the type of nuclear reactions occurring when a large atom is split into two smaller atoms. The sum to the masses of the two smaller atoms will be less than the mass the to larger atom that was split. This decrease in mass is converted into energy through E = mc squared which explains how fission reactions produce so much power.

To split an atom (e.g Uranium 235) a neutron is fired at the atom. The atom splits into Barium and Krypton as well as 3 more neutrons. These 3 neutron then split 3 more Uranium 235 atoms. If left uncontrolled, a nuclear reaction can actually sustain itself, with the number of atoms splitting increasing exponentially. This uncontrolled type of reactions is used in nuclear weapons, in fact the entire chain reaction in a nuclear explosion goes to completion in a split second!

To control a nuclear reaction, such as that in nuclear power stations, control rods are used, rods of fissionable material can be pulled out or placed in the reactor to control to reaction. The reactor also contains material which absorb neutrons, reducing the rate of reaction. Lastly heavy water (water made up of isotopes of hydrogen) are used in earlier nuclear reactors to improve power production.

fissionable material include Uranium 235 (an isotope of uranium) and Plutoium.
wikipedia is your best friend in this situation. I learned how a black hole works in and out in alf a day using it so I doupt there will be any problem you finding the awnsere there.
It is controlled by using control rods which absorb the excess electrons. Fissionable material are those materials when bombarded with electrons will deteriorate into materials by emmitting radiations in the form of protons nutrons or electrons.

The answer may not be exact but is on those lines.

  • I'd like to start taking Birth Control, but I'm not sure how to go about that and how the process works. Help?

Easy as pie!! You make an appointment with your doctor. You go in and say you would like to begin birth control for whatever reaons (cramping? birth control? acne? irregular periods? etc.). Your doctor will ask you if you have been sexually active (meaning you've had sexual intercourse). If you have, then your doctor will give you a PAP Smear before prescribing the pill. You then will get your prescription (and hopefully a talk with your doctor about taking them, certain risks/side effects with taking them, how to take them, etc.).

I would just like to add that if you are going to try and keep this from your parents, doctors CANNOT tell anybody about what they have prescribed for you...not parents, not brothers, sisters, grandparents, NO ONE! It is patient confidentiality.

And as someone below said (I gave the thumbs up cuz I REALLY liked what she had to say!) is to make sure that you ask all questions that pop into your head and make sure you understand 10000000% of how to take your pill and what is required of you when taking the pill and how it works.I'd like to start taking Birth Control, but I'm not sure how to go about that and how the process works. Help?
Make an appointment with your doctor or drop into your local free clinic or Planned Parenthood. All you'll need is a physical and a prescription.I'd like to start taking Birth Control, but I'm not sure how to go about that and how the process works. Help?
when i was 14 i wanted to get on birth control but didnt want my mom to know that i was having sex so i just went to the health department to have a pap smear and then they gave me a year supply of birth control FREE! it easy and safe. they wont call or contact your parents in any way unless you say its ok. if its not an issue then just go to your gyno and tell them that you want birth control and theyll get you set up from there.
First off, you need to go to a gynecologist. The doctor will do a physical exam to make sure you're healthy. Then your doctor will help you decide which type of birth control is going to best suit your lifestyle. There are quite a few different types of pills--different hormone levels and different types of hormones, as well as other options including the Patch, NuvaRing, Depo Provera shots, implants, and IUDs. Talk to your doctor about the different choices, and what you want from your birth control. And don't be afraid to ask questions! When you do decide on a pill or other birth control, make sure you understand how and when to start it, how frequently it needs to be used/taken, and whether it can be used to skip periods occasionally. Also make sure you understand how effective it is, and what things can decreas its effectiveness, including other medications, taking it wrong, etc.

Could it be that our lives occur according to a process which we actually have no control over?

FIRST: Read this arguement before you answer:

IF: The exact present moment is an infinitley small time frame, which approaches zero.

SO: One cannot change the future moment, every action they take only is in the present moment.

THUS: As soon as an action is taken, it instantaneously becomes the past.

SO: Since we cannot change the future (only the present) and we cannot change the past moment either, then we have no control over what has or what will occur in our life.

This is to say that all our actions are pre-programmed in the first place. It is only an illusion that our bodies and our minds truly act autonomously and independently from the rest of the universe.Could it be that our lives occur according to a process which we actually have no control over?
ok, here's the skinny...we have a choice as to how we see ourself in all this..thats about itCould it be that our lives occur according to a process which we actually have no control over?
Yeah, it could be. Try to write down all the things that are going to happen to you in the next 24 hrs, every little detail. let me know how accurate you were. How much control did you have predicting all those things exactly?
    My head hurts, Mommy.....
    Yes, you are correct.

Free will is actually an illusion.

Because circumstances can and do just happen and because of your individual CNS including your brain, you have absolutely no choices to make in your present life.

You are compelled to live, think, act and behave in accordance with your surroundings and the way you are put together as a human being.

Cool question that was framed in a very significant way!
What we are this moment is a result of what we thought and did in the past. What we will be is the result of what we think and do now. Thoughts are things and we have control over the way we think and act so therefore we have control of our lives.
    It could very well be!0!

How are cruise control process parameters measured?

and what type of transducer is used in a typical cruise control system???How are cruise control process parameters measured?
There seems to be a few parameters involved, with transducers feeding info to the throttle control, and automatic gearbox.

I have an oldish Saab 900SE. It has a 4-speed auto gearbox.

It amazes me that you just drive into a speed limit area correctly, hit the stalk, and it will stay within 1mph, feet off.

Similarly, in more rural areas, say going up a hill, it decides to go down a gear.

Also it has to know the If I press a pedal, it is over-rided, and switches off,

There is a management system that does all this in a mysterious black box

It must be looking at road speed, revs, pedals, etc.

The senders, or transducers, must therefore by of a different nature, some analogue, as in speed, some digital on/off jobs.

Thank the Gods that it has yet to steer the thing !

  • This is a process control question?

What will happen to the pressure in a tank when the level is cyclingThis is a process control question?
It will vary? Do you mean the pressure at the bottom of the tank? It will vary in proportion the the level. The pressure at the top of the tank will depend on if it is vented or not, if vented it might vary a very small amount due to friction in the vent, but will be essentially constant. If the tank is not vented, the pressure will increase with increasing level. Note that if the tank is not vented the pressure at the bottom will be the sum of the weight if the liquid (per unit area) plus the pressure of the gas above the liquid. This is a process control question?
If the process is a closed one, then the pressure in the tank will not vary

What cell part is sort of the ';control'; of the mitosis process?

Is it the nucleus? Because the nucleus is, really, the ';brain'; of the cell. (managing and storing information and instructions for the other organelles). Or maybe the spindle fibres, being the ones who do the pulling? ack :S

Again, I'm not strong at all in science and am really not completely sure. What cell part is sort of the ';control'; of the mitosis process?
Well it is more complex than just 'the nucleus'.

There could potentially be a number of factors to cause a cell to mitose.

I would 'imagine' that the original signal could be external (controlled by a hormone or signal from another cell) or by a internal signal in the cell.

Basically something in the cell or from another cell will cause either: a gene to be transcribed in the nucleus which will in turn results in the translation of proteins involved in the replication of DNA) or

the signal will bind to an enzyme responsible for the replication of DNA and then the enzyme will go to work replicating the DNA.

I don't know if there is actually any gene upregulation involved in the initial process, or if enzymes or just being activated by the signal.

However, for a simplified answer, the control is probably a gene in the nucleus.

But the control could also be considered the 'signal' that activated the transcription of that gene.

But it is definitely not the spindle fibers. What cell part is sort of the ';control'; of the mitosis process?
Well, since the mitochondria supply all the power, they could be considered the ';control'; of the mitosis process, but other than that, I would guess the nucleus. :)
The nucleus defiantly controls mitosis. Through transcription, DNA inside the nucleus duplicates itself. The copied version ( or RNA) then exits the nuclear envelope to carry out the necessary instructions with genetic coded info. Ex. which proteins and amino acids to bind and how many. Once the daughter cells are of full maturity the cells split and whalah. Nucleus is the container of dark fibers called chromatin, which contain chromosomes and DNA. So I say yes. It is the nucleus.

Thanks :)Stem cells - they can potentialy become various cells, in stem cell research how do we control the process?
You expose it to the various different growth factors that stimulate RBC (or WBC) maturation to change it into a precursor along the desired cell line.

For example if you wanted a RBC precursor you would use Erythropoietin

If you wanted a WBC precursor you would use GCSF or a related colony stimulating factor

when you configure 800xA for DA, there is an option to use OLE for Process Control(OPC).

What it means is, your source of data for access/acquisition will be lying outside of the system and OPC is the mechanism by which you access it. For example when DA is required from external files , e.g Excel spreadsheets, MS-access database etc. Technology is from Microsoft based on open standards. What means OLE for process control?
    Hi DORA S.

OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) is Microsoft's component document technology. With OLE, you can dynamically link files and applications together. An object is a combination of data and the application needed to modify that data. You can embed objects in or link them to documents created with a different application.

For instance, an Excel spreadsheet can be embedded within a Microsoft Word document using OLE. Double-clicking the embedded spreadsheet will launch Excel and allow the user to modify the sheet.

Some applications include small applets that are used to create objects. For instance, Microsoft Word includes a drawing tool (MS Draw) and a tool for manipulating characters as art (Text Art) which can be launched only via OLE.

What is the difference between due process and crime control models?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Due_process

    This article might help.

    http://www.associatedcontent.com/article鈥?/a>

Crime control models seem to favor the cops as they allow them greater freedom. It's like a shoot first ask questions later figuratively compared to due process where someone is presumed innocent until proven guilty and rights are respected.

What's the difference between factual guilt in crime control model, and legal guilt int he due process model?

Legal guilt in the due process model is much more difficult to prove. It is to ensure that innocent people are never wrongly convicted of a crime, even if that means more guilty people go free as a consequence.

On the other hand, factual guilt would put more guilty people behind bars, but at the cost of occasionally finding an innocent person guilty by mistake.

Legal guilt in the due process model also cannot be achieved in the person is only proven guilty through illegal investigative techniques. For example, if I search your house without a warrant and I find you with dead bodies stuffed in your closet, I can't use that information against you because I should have never been in your house without a warrant in the first place. If I had followed the law and not illegally searched your house, I would not know you're guilty.

    Do Statistical Process Control?

I had been ask to do Statistical Process Control in M.Excel with the data min, max, cpk , average and standard deviation. How to do this?Do Statistical Process Control?
Assuming you have a set of data from your process. You should have a bunch of numbers gathered from the process that you wish to control. such as temperature, size inspection, rejects per thousand, or SOME data that the process yields.

import the data into Excel, highlight the range of numbers, and run the formula command on the set. example: in the formula bar, type in =AVE while highlighting a whole series of numbers. if you have highlighted a column of 300 numbers, at the bottom of the column, excel will calculate the average number of all the data points. • Why would a manufacturing company sample 25 parts each hour and use a process control chart to maintain the?

mean diameter of parts produced rather than measure each part produced? Why would a manufacturing company sample 25 parts each hour and use a process control chart to maintain the?
For economic reasons. I pressume that the company is using human inspectors.

100% inspection is not a guarantee of the quality of the finished product. The quality being defined as meeting standards or specifications.

If it costs $1 to inspect one unit and the production per hour is 1000 units that is a savings of $975 dollars per hour.

For example, the sample size is dictated by the lot size and the Average Quality Level (AQL). Normally, majority of the manufacturers use Military Standards, e.g. 105D, hence the term AQL. Statistically speaking, the Mean (X-bar) will represent the population. Using the three-sigma (plus or minus three standard deviations from the mean) control limits the control chart will represent almost 100% of the

population. SPC (using standard deviation) will estimate the errors of a given population by using only a smaller sample size rather than inspecting the whole production or lots.

Refer to Quality Control Handbook, Third Edition, J. M. Juran, et. al., editors, 23-1, Process Control by Statistical Methods. Also Sections, 22, 24, and 25.

What process does a dog groomer go through to get the undercoat under control?

Someone used the phrase ';Blow out the undercoat';. What exactly does that mean? Do they have a special blow dryer they use on shedding dogs? The reason I am asking is I just called Pet Smart and she said they just do a lot of brushing. I mean, I do that here! I don't want to pay 65.00 if they are only going to brush him. Please tell me what process they go through for the shedding dog. Thank you. What process does a dog groomer go through to get the undercoat under control?
you need a brush specially designed for the undercoat. typically wire with a slight bend in each bristle so it grabs all that fine, thick fur and pulls it out. you can of course do this yourself and yes, it is time-consuming plus you need to keep doing it until the whole undercoat has shed. then you get to do it again next year. your dog will be very grateful.

start at the dogs rump and work your way up his back and sides instead of vice versa. raise up the nap of the the fur with your other hand so you can get close to the skin and undercoat with each stroke. remember to clean out the brush often as it fills up quickly. What process does a dog groomer go through to get the undercoat under control?
They use a power blower, which is like a hair dryer but very powerful and doesn't use heat like your own hair dryer would. It literally blows the water out of the coat, like those electric hand dryers in restrooms. If you don't want to pay a groomer that much, consider purchasing a Metro dyer yourself. Here's a link:

    http://www.sitstay.com/dog/supplies/serv鈥?/a>
They use a very fine toothed comb to remove the undercoat and then use the dryer in combination with the fine toothed comb to remove all the excess undercoat.

Honesty, use your $65 and purchase a FURminator. I swear by this brush! I have three giant breeds who are known for their undercoats and this is the only brush I have found that removes the entire undercoat. I love it!

    I wish you luck!

Stront-
let's say the fraction is f, and time is t (in years).

    f = (0.5)^(t/28)

    ln both sides

    ln(f) = (t/28)*ln(0.5)

    divide by ln(0.5)

    [ln(f) / ln(0.5)] = t / 28

    multiply by 28

    28*[ln(f) / ln(0.5)] = t

with the above equation, you can solve for t with any f.Strontium-90 is used in machines that control the thickness of paper during the manufacturing process. Stront-

What is the process I have to go through for getting birth control?

Are there any medical tests or anything? How do they determine which is best suited for you? I'm thinking about it but want to know what I'm going to be getting myself into. What is the process I have to go through for getting birth control?
First go to your regular doctor or ob/gyn and have a PAP test done to make sure everything is okay. Then talk with your doctor about your decision to start taking bcp and they will choose the right one for you. You may have to try several kinds to find the right one, some will have adverse side effects and some may have none at all. You just have to experiment and talk with your doctor.

About other tests, maybe it depends on your age, but I personally didn't have any tests done other than a PAP.What is the process I have to go through for getting birth control?
Ususually it starts with an exam at a clinic or office. Also filling out paperwork with info. about yourself , partners, info. about family medical history etc. They will then help make recommendations to you . Some will ask what you think after explaining each one , others will be more opinionated or inclined to recommend one over the others.
You will probably fill out a family and self medical history form while you wait and then you will likely have to get a pap smear and pelvic exam. (It's not that bad, espeically if you relax during the exam, but I've gone through child birth and cancer treatment, so a pap and pelvic is nothing to me) The doctor will probably ask you a few questions about your cycle, body, allergies and all of that good stuff to decide which pill is best. Also, there are pills that stop your period, others that clear up acne. All of that is taken into consideration.

Generally, I spend more time in the waiting room waiting than I do in the exam. My last pap and pelvic took less than ten minutes. It's usually a pretty boring doctor's visit.
You can go to any office of the Health Department (if you live in the United States); they usually have a family planning department and a department for the provention of sexually transmitted diseases. You will have to take a pregnancy test, first.
    Agreed with anon.

If you're going on birth control and thinking of going without condoms, you and your partner should both get STD tests in addition to you getting a pap. They should also do the usual healthy checkup stuff (bp, family history, etc) and most doctors will want to follow up to monitor your blood pressure and see how you're adjusting to your prescription. Most doctors have a ';favorite'; they'll prescribe to most people, but if you're interested in a more low maintenance BC (like the patch) be sure to ask away.
All you have to do to get on birth control is go to your doctor and tell him/her that you want to go on it. He/she will then write you a prescription for it and you take that to your pharmacy and they will get them for you.

There are no tests what so ever. But if you are having sex you will start having to go get a pap test done every year.

How do they determine whats best for you? Most doctor's have a preference as to which brand they give out to their patients but they look over your medical history and see if there is any reasons why you shouldn't be on birth control.

If you have any other questions feel free to e-mail from my contact page. Best of luck!

    Statistics process control questions?

What are the grand mean, the UCL and the LCL of a control chart for the mean?Statistics process control questions?
Basically the ';grand mean'; is where your target lies. The UCL and LCL are the ';upper control limit'; and ';lower control limit';. They are set by the sigma value that you need to attain. the greater the sigma value the further away the UCL and LCL will be relative to the mean.

Who should control the decisions influencing the educational process?Should schools follow society or lead it ?

I think , the role of school is to strike a balance between safeguarding the cultural identity and preparing citizens to meet changes within the country and at regional and international levels; to provide basic skills; to prepare citizens to meet technological advancements; and to prepare students for practical life and that could lead to changes if the out come (the educated person) of schools were qualified and well prepared enough to make that changes. Now who should control the decisions influencing the educational process? The answer is as we always wondering ';what was first the egg or the hen?'; Schools are small society get their information, curriculum, cultures, ideology form the society who is comprised of organized voluntary educated people for religious, cultural, scientific, political, patriotic, who designs and paves the way to school to create a generation who will participate to build the society. Thus schools should follow society and leads it toward changes. Finally schools can't be separate form the main sources (the society) which control the decisions influencing the educational process. Who should control the decisions influencing the educational process?Should schools follow society or lead it ?
Schools should simply expound information. Not set societal standards, nor follow societal standards. They should be repositories of knowledge, not brainwashing the way they are now.

What is the process for document retention and control?

Enterprise information is an asset that has to be protected by the organization. This can be done using simple document retention and control systems that manage all kinds of documents in the organization. The files that need to be protected and controlled are first identified based on their attributes. They are then moved to appropriate storages according to the life expectancy of that data. Document control is primary for governance, risk and compliance solutions.

  • The process of attaining birth control pills?

Ok so i basically have three questions.

    1. what will the exam consist of?

    2. is it awkward

    3. once you finish the exam, do you ever have to do it again

serious answers pleaseThe process of attaining birth control pills?
Yeah it will be awkward. Your best bet is just to wait to have sex. You'll just up regretting it anyway.... Or you could get in a worse situation then just regret.

鈾?TaylorThe process of attaining birth control pills?
You will need to have a regular exam by a gynecologist. This will include you filling out medical history forms and discussing this will the Dr or nurse. You will also need to take a pregnancy test in the office. They will take your blood pressure, temp, and weigh you. Then you will go into the exam room where you will have a PAP smear done. During this you will be laying back with a sheet over your legs and the Dr will take a sample (using something similar to a cotton swab) of the inside of your vagina as well as looking at your cervix to make sure all is healthy. After this (or before) your Dr will discuss different types of birth control pills, and you (together) will decide which is best for you. This is based on your weight, lifestyle, and your periods. The exam is a little uncomfortable, but not painful. Providing everything comes back clean, you will only need to have this done once a year.
    1. First they'll ask you a bunch of questions, weigh you, and test your blood pressure, iron level, and blood sugar. They only take a finger prick of blood. During the actual physical exam, you'll have to take off your panties and get on a table under a sheet with your feet in the stirrups. They'll ask you more questions during the examination. The exam itself is very quick. They'll exam your breasts to check for any lumps, then feel around your genitals to do the same. Next they insert a speculum to look inside your vagina, and use a long q-tip to take some swabs of your cervical cells. This checks for cervical cancer as well as some STDs.

    2. Not really. Of course, going to the doctor for anything can be awkward, but look at it this way: They look at vaginas all day. Yours is no different from anyone else's. Just pretend they're examining your feet or something. That wouldn't be awkward, would it?

    3. You have to go back in three months to have your weight and blood pressure checked again, and they'll ask how you're doing on the pills. At this time they won't do another physical exam (unless something's wrong.) Then you go back a year after the first appointment, and you have to have another physical exam. Sexually active women (or women on birth control) have to have a pelvic exam once a year. After age 40 women also have to have a mammogram once a year.
    1. You have to fill out paper work. They ask how many partners you've had, and STD's, past pregnancy, etc. Then they do a urine pregnancy test. Then they will bring you in a room to do the pap-smear. When you get dressed, they will come in the room with a bag of birth-control and condoms. They will discuss everything you need to know.

    2. The first time is always awkward, but the more you go the more comfortable it is.

    3. To keep getting birth control, you have to do an annual pap-smear. No pap-smear, no birth control. It is just to keep your health in check.
    1. i have been on and off the pill a couple of times. i don't remember if there is an exact exam you go through. basically i go for a pelvic exam/ pap test that they recommend you do once a year. while you are there, you can ask the doctor about putting you on the pill. they will ask you questions to see what pill would be best for you. then they write you a script and send you on your way. you can get your prescription refilled once a month, or get a bunch at a time and stash them at your house.

    2. as for the exam being awkward, they are doctors. they have seen, felt and heard everything. they talk to you throughout your checkup and tell you what they are doing and what they are checking for.

    3. like i said before, you should go for a checkup every year. you can renew your prescription then.

on another note, you can also get birth control from planned parenthood locations.. although i never have done it before so you will have to do some more research or make a couple phone calls.
pretty easy.. not awkward at all! you talk to the doctor, they ask questions about your menstrual system, if you've had pregnancies before, ever had an abortion, etc. you get the pills the same day, usually they give you one years supply. so to answer ur last question, in another year u will have 2 come back lol good luck. i used BC pills since i was 15 but the shot worked better!
I didn't get an exam done to get birth control... The doctor just prescribed it.

But if you are talking about a routine pap smear, it's only a little awkward and it's over quickly, and yes you have to get one every year.
Usually, you go in and they take a urine test.. Then they do a pap smear...

It's not too awkward, atleast not unless you are really shy..

And yes, usually you have to do this once a year
    nothing. they just ask questions.

although no exam its a little awkward. (although i am 13....)

yeah i have to go back after 3 months in it.
    pap smear

    yes

    yes, once a year

it depends on where youre going probably. like to the doctor or planned parenthood or wherever.

What is the process of getting birth control? what happens?

I'm thinking about going on bc, and i'm nervous. what happens at the doctor's office after you've made up your mind? blood tests? lots of lecturing? mucho money? What is the process of getting birth control? what happens?
Depending on where you live and what type of health plan you have, the birth control prices differ but are usually not that expensive. The doctor will first ask you why you are deciding to go on birth control and will usually recommend a pap test before perscribing the birth control pill. The doctor should not lecture you, but the doctor will explain the side effects and what happens if you miss a pill etc. The doctor will also tell you that the pill does not protect against STD's. What is the process of getting birth control? what happens?
If you want to go on the pill, you will more than likely get a pelvic exam and possibly a breast exam. A blood test is not required.. and what you call ';lecturing'; is just the doctor going over the basic stuff about taking the pill and he/she may even talk to you about other forms of birth control you may be interested in. It's not that expensive either.. mine were $30 or $40.
depending on your healthcare, you may be covered for it, your doctor will prolly give you a pap test (nothing to be worried about, you need it anyways) check you for breast lumps depending on your age and family history (bc slightly raises breast cancer risk) and take your blood pressure (not where they stick a needle in, the one where they put the cuff around your arm for a minute) you'll prolly get a 3 month sample to start out on
Your doctor will discuss your birth control options (pill, ring, patch etc) and decide what would be best for you. Then usually they will give you a pap smear to screen you for cancer and check your general health down there. Usually docs won't give you a bc prescription unless you have a pap. And thats it. With insurance it doesn't get too expensive. $15/mo.
Before any doctor puts you on birth control they should do a pap smear. They won't lecture you or do blood tests. Depending on the type you want it can be cheap or expensive.
Just ask your doctor and they'll prescribe you a brand. I didn't have any tests or questions or anything. It cost me about $15 a month.

What quality control processes are involved in a ready meal manufacturing process? what are the dimems?

Any type of food processing would be handled by the FDA. There are countless regulations that would need to be followed depending on the types of food that you're making. There are regs that control everything from testing, cleaning, employee training, paper records, and just about everything you can think of. Your manufacturing facility will be regulated by the FDA. You'll also be subject to periodic inspections in regards to product quality to to make sure that you're facility to following regulations. One place to get started would be the FDA's website. I work for a drug manufacturer and we are FDA regulated. Our requirements are slightly different from food regulations in some cases but a lot of the same things overlap.

I am 30 yr old and i am getting lots of grey hair. How to control it, is there any process to delay getting it

More grey hair is coming in front. Coloring spreads and increases gery hair is it so? Tell me how to get rid of this problem.I am 30 yr old and i am getting lots of grey hair. How to control it, is there any process to delay getting it
Ths is my success story. Massage thoroughly with olive, coconut or any natural oil - then brush vigorously using a palm held brush with stiff short natural boar bristles (tightly packed) so you really feel it stimulating scalp. Brush 90 /100 strokes or even more each day focusing on where greying is. Brushing before you apply oil is equally OK. A little shedding and breakage may occur at first but quickly stops as brushing makes hair stronger and better anchored. It will grow fast, thicker and It will stop greying and even force some new growth. I had original color new growth and also color was restored in some parts. Keep oil on as long as possible - it helps if you can sleep with it oiled. Initially new hairs will be weak looking and sparse. Don't be concerned if brushing uproots them as they will re-appear even stronger. New growth was slower and sparse at first then each month over a year grew more densely. It demands perseverance week in, week out to get the same results.

Premature graying can be caused by many shampoos, hair products that contain countless hair, scalp and even health harming harsh and toxic ingredients. Washing hair too frequently is another cause - removes beneficial natural oils. Find ';Non harmful shampoos, etc'; with Google searches. Some will come up and be expensive or only available on-line so refine search by adding ';low cost'; and ';available in stores'; Find in GNC ,Trader Joes, Some Walmart Stores, Cost Plus, Wegmans, Earth Fare, Whole Foods, natural %26amp; health foods stores. Wish you the best. I can be emailed.

SOURCE(S): 20+ years research, self experimentation using natural treatments for hair regrowth and cures of skin, scalp and hair disorders.I am 30 yr old and i am getting lots of grey hair. How to control it, is there any process to delay getting it
Sorry hun, I don't think there is a way to delay it. Colouring definitely doesn't increase or spreed grey hair. It might seem that way because all the greys are hidden with the dye but then as the colour grows out and you see new growth they greys stand out more, also it could be new greys. Nothing to do with the dye though! The only way to get rid of the greys if it bothers you is to dye your hair about every 6 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows. There are pretty good hair dyes on the market that aren't too bad for your hair. Try Clairol natural instincts non-permanent colour. It washes out after about 28 shampoos, and because it lightens gradually, your roots aren't as noticeable. If you have a ton of grey though, your will have to use permanent.

    Hope I helped. =)
If 50% of your hair turns to grey, that is premature graying of the hair, but its normal to 40 years old and above.

Reasons of having a grey hair are:

    1. Genetically inherited

    2. There is underlying medical problems like thyroid disorders

    3. Vitamin B12 deficiency

    4. Anemia

    5. Vitiligo

    6. Side effect of the hair products

    7. Side effect of the hair treatment. Like hot oil treatment: extra heat can damage the hair.

The ways to found to have a control of it is first: see a doctor
I would got to a salon and have them match your natural color and use a semi permant hair dye to help blend those grays. Depend on how much grey you have they can give you other suggestions as far as coloring techniques based on the consultation. There is no delaying grey hair. Get referals for a colorist in your area- if you see someone and you like the look of their hair ask them who they go to.
I too had grey hair from 30. I did not mind having them because it looked, what my friends said, 'graceful'. But by the time I turned 48 it became a uniform salt and pepper. When I attended an interview a member questioned if I was 55. That's when I decided I would 'dye'. Now the same guy tells me I look a lot healthier though there is nothing to health in it. So it all depends on how you look or you feel people who matter to you look at you.If its alright, wear it, if not dye it natural black.
To check graying of hair, mix lemon juice in olive oil, beat till frothy and apply on scalp and wash off after an hour. Premature graying of hair can be postponed by using a strong decotion of black tea and a tablespoon of salt, strain and apply to the roots for 45 minutes and wash with water. Don't shampoo. Check out http://useinfo-grayhair.blogspot.com/ for more info on gray hair.
If it will stay, let it go grey. It's better than having no hair at all. The more you stress over it the more grey it will become. Use just for men if it's really bugging you.
Grey hair is beautiful, leave it alone...my husband has had it since he was 16 and he is hot! So is George Clooney and Dr. Drew! Unless you are a women then color it!
there is no way to control this its natural!

  • Is there a process to switching brands of birth control?

I've been on birth control for years but I cant remember and I have to switch my pill immediately. I currently have to packs of pills leftover from when I switched before that I will be taking as I cant get an appointment woth my doc until next month =(

I'm on Yasmin switching to tri-cyclen. Do I need to stop the yasmin and have a period and than take tri-cyclen or can I just switch it right now?Is there a process to switching brands of birth control?
When switching pills, you should complete your pack of Yasmin, have your period, and then switch to Tri-cyclen. It is not good to just switch brands in the middle of your cycle it throws your hormones out of whack.

Also, I know you didn't ask this. But I would also not recommend jumping back and forth between brands without consulting your doctor. I don't know where you live, but when I am in an emergency and can't make an appt. with my doc I always go to the walk in clinic and they take care if it. I mean, you must have switched away from tri-cyclin for a reason before right? Your best best would be to go to a walk-in and get a new prescription.

Whats the schooling and process for getting into air traffic control?

I heard that a bunch of new jobs are opening for air traffic controllers because of the 80's blacklist or somehting... Anyways, I also heard that to be accepted into the school theres a test you have to take under pressure to see if you have the skills and can handle it. Is this true? Is there a school in fort worth? What are some online / real life resources for getting info on this career field?Whats the schooling and process for getting into air traffic control?
You have to either a) get hired ';off the street'; b) do ATC in the military or c) go to a CTI (controller training initiative) school. Getting hired off the street you take the test called the AT-SAT, which no doesn't measure how much stress you can take. Its pretty much can you do basic math and how do you function playing what amounts to a video game. Passing the interview and the AT-SAT via the off the strees route doesn't get you anywhere. They then take the succeful people and pick a number at random, if your social security number ends in that number you're in, if not, tough luck. The OTS route is a tough road to hoe, 75% of those that go that way and pass the interview fail out and get fired at some point. With the application process that means less that 2.5% of potential controllers actually make it.

I'd suggest either A) getting real world training in the military or B) going to a CTI school. The military, well thats obvious, talk to a recruiter. If you get the MOS you apply for, you'll be set for ATC once you get out. There are 13 CTI schools. They are all normal colleges and universities that the FAA has said, ';We like what you do in training, keep it up and we'll snap up your grads.'; Major in ATC at one and the FAA will hire you. None of these are in Ft Worth. I think you are thinking of Silver State (or Silver Star, not sure) aviation. There are privately owned towers and SS Aviation will get you into those, but if you want the real deal with the FAA, SS won't cut it. Jobs are set to seriously open up, the FAA is way behind the hiring curve and yes it is because of the PATCO firings in the 80's am ong other things. Do the OTS route, do the military, do CTI, doesn't matter. Just know the military and CTI ways will give you a serious advantage to getting through all the hurdles you'll face. I'm going through CTI aftter getting over 350 hours in flight time in my log book and a degree. I can't imagine getting thrown to the wolves doing the off the street thing. Even with what I have it still isn't easy. Best of luck to you.

WHY a process which genes control the production of proteins be called enzyme synthesis?

Why is this important to understand? Basically a statement that summarizes the whole big picture of it relating production of proteins to enzyme synthesisWHY a process which genes control the production of proteins be called enzyme synthesis?
i don't think your question is really correct. Enzyme synthesis is part of 'the process which genes control the production of proteins'. I would call that protein synthesis. Genes determine the configuration and types of proteins synthesized. This is important because many of our metabolic or physiological processes require the presence of proteins such as hormones and enzymes and antibodies.

Is there a naturopathic way to control flatuence in the cooking process?

    Beano works.

While many people say to eliminate the offending food, there is equally good evidence that frequent consumption of small amounts of the offender will eventually encourage the proper bateria needed to digest it. In my case, I begin eating small amounts of split pea soup on nearly a daily basis. Now I can eat beans without distress. Is there a naturopathic way to control flatuence in the cooking process?
When cooking raw beans, soak them in water overnight before cooking. Is there a naturopathic way to control flatuence in the cooking process?
    Add Baking Soda
It's not necessarily naturopathic, but I've been cooking for over forty years, and I can tell you that many foods that cause flatulence cause a lot less when cooked, such as cabbage and onions. Also, I've found that for us older folks, consuming less beef and pork fat helps reduce indigestion and flatulence. A third means of dealing with that is to consume less in the way of legumes, which tend to ferment in the intestine more readily...and fermentation is what causes flatulence in the first place. Y'should be aware that you can't entirely eliminate it - you'd have to shoot yourself...
add a little asefotieda (pinch) to the oil or butter before you work in other ingredients. Only for hot foods.
Nothing wrong with a good fart now and then !!

Has anyone else ever felt like their home builder had too much control over the process?

I feel like I am at the mercy of my home builder.

They rip me off with upgrade prices and refuse to make any changes or adjustments even when the house is not even started.

It's annoying when I am paying out hundreds of thousands of dollars and I feel like my builder is bullying me around.

Upgrade prices? That should have been addressed before they broke ground. If they are buying a material that is no longer available and are replacing it with a comparable one that the cost is yours. If the builder is just choosing an upgrade, he should not have that authority.

As far as changes and adjustments, what exactly are you talking about? Some walls are load bearing and can't be changed and some changes affect the materials list which affects your cost.

I don't have enough information from your question to really help but I have been involved in new home construction and remodeling (with the family business although it is just a side thing for me) my whole life and most builders (good honest ones) get upset with constant changes that add to his time in the job with no additional pay.

I wish I could help more.Has anyone else ever felt like their home builder had too much control over the process?
I've kinda had an experience like that. I was getting my haircut and I wanted a specific style. The lady was totally changing it up and I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want her to get mad. I ended up walking home feeling unsatisfied and empty. lesson learned. If your paying that much money for all that, you need to get what you want and not feel like they're swindling you. You need to put your foot down and be firm. Get up in their faces and tell them what's gonna get done and what's not. Or else you will get swindled and feel empty inside just like your wallet will be.
You are paying them. They don't have any more control than you let them have. They have to do what you want (within the local, state, and federal regulations). Upgrades are an option not a requirement. It depends on what type of contractible agreement you have with them, what type of building they are constructing, and where.
