What is process control engineering and what is the job of process control engineer?

Process control engineering is exactly what it sounds like. Coming up with a way to control a process. For example turning oil into gasoline. There are different ways to do this and if you can come up with a more efficient process then you will be more profitable. This would most likely fall under the umbrella of Chemical Engineering. If you are looking at just the controls aspect it may fall under electrical engineering as well. What is process control engineering and what is the job of process control engineer?
a process control engineer have a very wide scope for work. control engineering involves mainly using control consepts in processes (chemical, biological, etc.).

Process control engineering teaches about feed back and feed forward control. types of controllers such as P, PI, PID, PLC, etc.

All types of modern indsutries need control engineers as all the processes are automated.
